Ww1 sadness.

I have a mission to buy as many death plaques as I can. These were issued in the first world war to the widows of all men who died in action. Hence they are sometimes called widows pennies. It makes me very sad that these are for sale but I suppose families die out. I will give them all a good home!

  1. There was one of these on Celebrity Antiques Road Trip tonight, and Chris Hollins bought one. I had not really heard of them before and was really interested. So we both have coincidences related to our blog posts-Tatler and death pennies. How many have you got? I have not seen them in shops either-or maybe I have but have not known what they were.
