Crochet blanket update

So here is how far I have got with my blanket! Can't believe I've managed it. A few weeks ago I would not have believed it! I was finding crochet soooooo hard.

Red cushion cover

Well I have very nearly finished my first crochet cushion cover. It took much longer than I thought. 32 squares in all!! Just for a wee cushion.

I have bought some great wooden buttons made by a guy in Scotland! He has an etsy site. They will look fabbo.

Flowers and spheres

Well today was part two of an excellent crochet course at the Make Lounge with Catherine Hirst. I learnt how to make flowers (properly) and also make spheres!!! Here are my efforts:

Ww1 sadness.

I have a mission to buy as many death plaques as I can. These were issued in the first world war to the widows of all men who died in action. Hence they are sometimes called widows pennies. It makes me very sad that these are for sale but I suppose families die out. I will give them all a good home!
